More than a Meal – Project Annapurna

Annadaata Sukhi Bhava.

In Sanskrit, it means: may the one who gives food be blessed with happiness.

It is more than a blessing. It is a way of understanding what feeding someone really means, that it is an act of care, of attention, of saying quietly and without condition: you matter. You deserve to be nourished.

That is the heart of Project Annapurna.

What We Do

Project Annapurna is a meal sponsorship programme. Individuals, families, and groups sponsor fresh, nutritious meals for the communities we serve, marking birthdays, anniversaries, memorials, or simply a day they wanted to do something good.

The meals are humble by design. Cooked fresh, served with love and care.

In 2025-2026, through the generosity of our sponsors, Project Annapurna delivered 15,000meals across multiple orphanages/care homes.

Why Meals Mean More Than Nutrition

Hunger is rarely only physical.

It says: someone outside these walls is paying attention. There is a community that sees you.

When a family sponsors a meal in memory of a loved one, celebrate a birthday or any joyous occasion, they are weaving their grief, their gratitude, their happiness, into something that nourishes.

How to Be Part of It

Sponsoring a meal through Project Annapurna is one of the clearest ways to contribute to BFL’s work.

If you would like to sponsor a meal for a birthday, an anniversary, a remembrance, or simply because you would love to, we would love to hear from you.
