“The Meaning of Life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
Pablo Picasso
It all started in 2008, when my house help was lamenting about the poor quality teaching of her two children. On a lark I agreed to spend some time with them and to help them do better in their studies. I found teaching to be enjoyable and found the students’ grades improving considerably. From two, it suddenly grew to 20 students. My passion for teaching was fueled when I understood the positive impact it was making in the lives of the children, motivating them to reach for their goals. A few of the students are currently in grade 11-12th and one of them is a small-time entrepreneur too.
I got associated with the National Association for the Blind (NAB), Meerut/SETU, out of a desire to improve the education for the underprivileged and have been actively involved with them since many years. Am now teaching English, online, for blind students of NAB.
Am also associated with UNITE & INSPIRE (U&I), Houston with their Nandanam project, wherein the meal for a day is sponsored by a donor from the United States. I co-coordinate with the Orphanage in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and U&I , with details of sponsorship.
I was associated with Family of Disabled (FOD), identifying potential physically challenged persons, who wanted to be self-reliant and independent, helping them to set up their own shops or make them mobile by providing Tricycles.
Academically, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management and worked with Computer Point & Biocon. Post marriage moved to New Delhi and had a short stint with Tangerine electronics. Started a Manpower Outsourcing firm in 2002, which ran successfully till 2018
Other than giving back to society, I enjoy singing, meditating and practicing Pranic Healing.
For me it is all about the sheer joy of making a difference to the lives of others.
