Bhuvaneshwari Ramalingam


With a burning desire to help the underprivileged communities in her motherland, she envisioned this non-profit – the Befriend Life Foundation, along with her friends, with the goal to help each life to live to its fullest potential. The primary objective is to facilitate sustainable and holistic empowerment of under-privileged communities supporting them for quality education, healthcare, vocational training, and environmental conservation.

Bhuvana is a graduate in Metallurgical Engineering from India and worked in the Research & Development department of one of India’s premier Steel making companies – JSW. After marriage, she left full-time employment and ran a tutoring academy, Deeksha Learning Center, for 10 years teaching Math, Science from 5th to 10th grades in Bangalore, India to CBSE, ICSE & State board students. Her journey of community service started with her association working as the Outreach Program Manager for a non-profit organization known as “UNNATI” in Bangalore, India.

After moving to Houston, Texas along with her family, she did courses on Hatha Yoga, Inner engineering, and other programs from ISHA, USA. She continued her passion for making an impactful difference in the lives around her through association with a Houston-based non-profit, Unite & Inspire. She also worked as Operations Manager for Help & Impact Vertical bringing in creative engaging opportunities to elementary, middle, and high school kids helping them to become responsible compassionate citizens. 

In June 2023, she graduated as a Valedictorian with Masters’s in Ayurveda & Integrative Medicine from Maharshi International University in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. She is now a Lead Teaching Assistant in Ayurvedic medicine at the same university. 

She is a mom to 2 beautiful girls, 20 years and 13 years old, and wife to an IT professional. In her leisure time, she loves to watch Bollywood movies, listen to music, dance, and travel.
