BFL Directors Visiting Ablashrama, Bangalore

On the suggestion by our advisor Mr. C V Kumar, our directors Bhuvana Ramalingam and Muralidharan decided to visit Ablashram. In their words “what we witnessed hugely inspired us”.

Abalashrama is a home and rehabilitation center for orphanage girls and destitute women between the ages of 16 and 25. In addition to providing basic needs like adequate shelter, wholesome food, and decent clothing, it imparts education and/or vocational training suited to their ability and aptitude.

We were delighted to meet Mr. Krishna Iyer, the secretary. He obliged us with a picture with him and introduced us to their PR person Mrs. Asha who gracefully and patiently gave us a tour of the various departments and their projects. It was quite an enriching experience to see the transformative programs and witnessed the impact when a few young girls gave us a demonstration of what they learned in their training in media with their anchoring skills and speaking in fluent English during their training process.

After taking the tour, the immediate thought process was how can we start supporting their great work. The area that we felt like beginning our beautiful association with Abalashrama was taking care of the sanitation needs of their 75 inmates.

We are very proud to share that as I write this story our first consignment with 3 months supply of biodegradable and 100% environmentally friendly sanitary pads would have reached Abalashrama.
